XaoS is a free realtime fractal generating program. You can use XaoS output as your base video. You can also overlay or composite the output of XaoS on top of live or recorded video.

To use XaoS, first download a specially-adapted version of XaoS from the Stone website (XaoS) and install it in your Applications directory.

To use XaoS output as your base video:

1. Launch XaoS.
2. In Videator, choose Tools->Connect to XaoS (Control-Cmd-X).
3. Click and hold in the XaoS window to begin zooming in on the fractal. XaoS’ output will appear in the Videator main window. You can also choose UI->Autopilot (a) to start automatically zooming into interesting parts of the fractal.
